State of Minnesota v. Derek Chauvin

The State of Minnesota v. Derek Chauvin was one of the most high-profile criminal cases in U.S. history. It involved the prosecution of former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd during an arrest outside Cup Foods at the intersection of 38th Street E and Chicago Avenue S in Minneapolis, MN, on May 25th, 2020. Chauvin was charged with second-degree unintentional murder, second-degree manslaughter, and third-degree murder. On April 20th, 2021, the Jury found Chauvin guilty of all three charges, and on June 25th, 2021, Derek Chauvin was sentenced to 22 and a half years in prison.
